RM 200 for 3 months of an unlimited entrance, personal trainers, aerobics class, yoga, and all other facilities offered by Priority Gym. Plus, RM30 for new member registration. What a very good deal. And what makes it better? I can claim the exact amount to my company!
So last month, with some effort to walk under the scorching February sun (15th to be exact), I finally have signed myself up for a gym membership.
It’s the third week, and I have been going for 5 times since I registered. I know I should have gone more, but I had a one week trip to Indonesia so the long gap couldn’t be avoided. As such, I am not expecting to see any changes in my body now. Obviously.
I feel sore in all the after work out session. That is because I learn new exercise on each of the gym training. My trainer taught me thigh exercises during my first lesson, followed by super painful feeling on my thighs the day after. When the pain had gone, I tried abs exercises on my second training. I wasn’t feeling so sore anymore on my thighs afterward, but my abdominal parts were numb.
Up until now, each part of my body is taking the turn to feel sore.
On the other hand, I am now able to do indoor cycling for more than 30 minutes. I am also able to do 4 set of abs and thigh exercise (previously it was too hard for me to even try lifting my left during the exercise).
Despite the pain, I think I have improved my sleep. After 90-100 minutes of a gym session, naturally, I don’t find it hard to sleep as the sleepiness feeling comes faster (around 11pm already want to sleep). Sometimes I fall asleep even when I am still holding my phone scrolling Instagram timeline.

I messed up my routine, though. I couldn’t manage my time properly so I didn’t get to cook and had been eating takeouts. I also didn’t clean my room, didn’t do my writing, didn’t read any book, and didn’t throw the rubbish. Oops.
So these are my notes as a gym first timer. If I can handle the problems and improve it, I think that is when I embrace the positive values of fitness.
