Penang is one of the most populated states in Malaysia, as well as a renowned holiday destination for foreign tourist. During my third visit to Penang earlier this year, I told my friend that Penang reminded me so much of my hometown and I’d love to live here. Ten months later, the words came true. I moved here to start a new life as a working woman.

Today marked my first week of living in Penang. Working life so far has been nice. Great bosses, comfortable building, flexible office hours, and nice peers. It’s a bit boring though, as I have only been into training sessions and not doing actual work. But I guess this will change once I get my tasks.
I still don’t know much about Penangites people since I haven’t been really gone outside and talk to them, but I think they should be nicer than KL peeps. I hope. And btw, thank God, foods are cheaper and tastier here.
I live in one of the towns in Penang where almost everything can be reached by walking. Masjid/mosque, supermarket, fast food restaurants, hospital, and even my office are only 5-15 minutes of walking from the apartment. Of course, it’s good to have a supermarket and fast food restaurant as your neighbor! The mall is just 10 minutes of driving. And many local restaurants are around. I love this.
Maybe a drawback of this place is that no trains in Penang. Only bus. And cars. I have been told by some folks that relying on public transportations to go out is really not recommended as it takes so long to wait for them. The only way is to use Uber or Grab. But obviously, they are pricey. I haven’t tried the buses (I have only done the usual routes of home-office and supermarket), so I can’t say much about this. Next time I will give some review on public transportations, foods, and other interesting places in Penang. Stay tuned!
i am waiting for your next story
