I was born and raised in a non-mainstream family. The thing about my family is, we are confident and we don’t listen to gossip. We don’t care about what others say, unless it is a good stuff to hear (advices are also good to listen,you know)
My late father was a public figure. People watched us. People talk about us. Especially because our life is quite unusual. Dad had 2 wives. Yes, you heard it right. Two wives. My mom is the second, and younger wive.
If you imagine a dramatic life with full conflicts between wives and spiced by evil in laws, well..nice try.
Our life was full of drama (as others are), but it isn’t like what you might’ve imagined. but one thing, we don’t do stuffs like how others do.
and so I became a brave girl. and also bold. and confident.
Like when I decided to study abroad (ended up in Malaysia because dad said that’s the furthest place could go as a 18 years old. he’s worried) , leaving all the facilities provided to me as daddy’s oldest girl.
“Let’s see if you can shine over there, where no one knows who your father is”, said mom.
and I shined. I achieved things. Not much, but enough as a proof that I do have skills too. I too, can shine.
I am very bold. Like, really really bold. It’s not easy to convince me, what is more, to stop me. Some said I am ambitious, but is it true? I am not sure, since I don’t mind losing. But I’ll try and try till I get what I want. Persistent I am.
one thing. Cuek. Aku cuek bgt. Couldn’t find a proper English word for this. Cuek can be ignorant, can be careless, or take things easy. I am cuek as in I don’t mind not talking to people so much in any WhatsApp group. I don’t ask people if they need my help (I will help if someone asks me. sometimes I just don’t notice ,unless ppl ask. LOL).
That brought me here. (almost) amaster degree. and a job in Northern part of Malaysia, 2432.6 km from home. I never planned to live in Malaysia for such a long time (8 years of dreams and tears), but I don’t mind..for now. I have dreams and this is only a small step to make them come true.
I wrote this to fulfill my task as a member of ODOP 4. Hopefully this enough to describe who I am.
