Sakura is coming! Who doesn’t know this flower? The ever famous flower in Japan, which only blooms once a year for 2 weeks. Every year people from the whole worls come to Japan to see these beautiful flowers.
According to my Sensei, the Japanese usually believe that Spring starts when the Sakura is blooming. During this blooming period, Japanese have this habit of doing “Hanami”. Hana means flower, mi means watching. What they do is to have picnic under the tree. Sensei said, during the picnic they would eat, talk, drinking beer, and even sing in a loud voice.

Alhamdulillah I’m very lucky to have this chance of witnessing the fully bloomed Cherry blossom this year. Didn’t want to miss the special moments, I started to visit Tokiwa Koen (koen=park) since the spring starts. (For me, Spring starts when I stop wearing thick jackets&coats)
There are many Sakura trees in Tokiwa Koen. This park looks pretty when the flowers bloom. Syukri, Sokrith and I had our first picnic in this park. The sakura were not there yet,but a lof of people still came. Families were having picnic, kids were running around, and the elders were taking pictures. [27/3/2016]

On another busy day, I kinda had a headache thinking about my thesis, so I rode my bicycle to the park with Sokrith and Syukri. not many people were around since it’s a Wednesday. The weather was around 15-16 celcius degree, warm enough for me not to wear my jacket. [30/3/2016]-photos by Syukri

During the weekend, I went to Ryouzan Park for hanami with other friends. Ryouzan Park is located in Sanyoonoda, 15minutes from Ube. They built this park in a hill, next to Kirara Beach. Most of the Sakura were fully bloomed this day, so the park was filled with lots of people.
I don’t know why, but not many people were doing picnic here. Most of them were only walking around and taking pictures.
The park is special because it’s on a hill and facing the sea. We managed to get the best view under a Sakura tree. Beautiful. It was almost the time for sunset, but we did not get to see it due to the clouds. [2/4/2016]
